Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 12-9-19 post

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We had a great time cooking, baking and enjoying friends.  For us the spirit of thanksgiving is giving thanks for now only how lucky we are but our friends and family.

As many have seen my Etsy store is now up and running.  With a ton of help over the holiday from my dear friend Sue, we pulled all the small original art that was laying around my studio.  Which I have to say was more then I thought was there! I thought I would talk a little about the treasures she found.

Small original paintings - only a few of these, the raven, rhino, hippo and the little monster.  Monster is pretty new, on paper which I don’t do a lot of.  The raven has been decorating the studio for a couple years.  Hopefully he will find a new home.  Rita Rhino and Hanna hippo are only about a year old, I just couldn’t decide if they were done and Sue helped me make that decision!

The Ink originals are something I play with off and on, and really enjoy them.  Many of the bases are reject watercolors or collages from Sue, and I take them and starting inking what I see.  My two favorites are the puppy with the sock and Boris the bull. They always make me smile.

The mono prints I have only done a few times since I don’t own a press of my own.  (yes it is on my wish list for someday!).  Love the process.  Some for sale are just the raw mono print, others I have done some hand coloring on with pastel or pencil.

The last originals we posted are scratch art.  Love doing these.  This is often what I take when I travel or am on vacation.  Easy to pack and doesn’t make to much of a mess, plus I love the detail of them.  Most I have done in the past I tend to give away as gifts but these 3 have been hanging out in a drawer and need to find a good home.

Please take a look and I would be thrilled if you passed the link on wherever you play in social media as well.  Would like to fine homes for all.

So what about the big paintings??

They are on going.  As you know Woodland Studios in Stoughton Wisconsin currently has a number of my paintings.  A Bear, Fox, Badger and Cardinal, all framed and ready to ship.

In my studio I have completed now a moose (I just love him).  As well as “Souls”, “Bird in Hand” and “Connections”.  I will probably be selling these through my new website after the first of the year but if you have an interest in any of those look on my gallery page and then just email me to discuss.

I have also started a series I am calling “legends”.  The first painting is of the world turtle, a legend in many cultures of a turtle that carries the world on his back.  The other two in progress are the great bear and brother wolf.  More to come on those.

Last is my bird paintings.  There is an international show in Wisconsin in September that I am working on 2 entry’s for.   One is the harpy the other a falcon.  Both are coming along, please keep your fingers crossed.

So that is what is happening in my studio.

All of you have a wonderful Christmas and fantastic new year….lots more to come!    Cindy
